Savonlinna Centre for Continuing Education and Regional Development
Founded as an independent institute of the University of Joensuu in 2001, Savonlinna Centre for Continuing Education and Regional Development (SKK) provides a broad array of services. Our priority is to provide university-level continuing education and to enhance professional as well as personal development. Our interest and concern is also with the development of the South Savo province through research and development programs.
We closely collaborate with representatives of industry and commerce as well as with local and regional governments. Our areas of expertise are based on the established academic disciplines in the Savonlinna Campus of the University of Joensuu.
In its operations the institute mainly depends on external funding. The main sources of income are national and European Union programs, fees, and private funding.
